MACHINISTS HUNGRY FOR A “STUBBY”

New line of straight shank collet chucks makes work a bit easier for machinists

Henderson , NV – Craftsman Industries, Inc., a Nevada-based manufacturer of precision machine tool accessories, has introduced a line of “STUBBY” ER straight shank collet chucks designed to expedite machine time. These innovative products are ideal for use on chuckers (manual or CNC), screw machines, and CNC lathes.  “STUBBY” collet chucks are shorter in length than their collet chuck extension counterparts (shortest ‘STUBBY” length is 3.5”) and come in a variety of shank diameters and collet sizes, fit for machinists’ needs.

“This new line complements our successful double angle “STUBBY” collet chucks and helps round out our product offerings,” states John Hent, the company’s President. John also adds, “Machinists will appreciate these new products because they are perfect for manual Hardinge chuckers and similar machines and they have smaller diameter lock nuts than most brands-great for hard-to-reach surfaces.”

The new addition currently consists of ten “STUBBY” collet chucks, ranging in size from the SPH-ER11-0500 (fits ER11 collet, with 1/2" shank diameter and 3-1/2” overall length) to the SPH-ER32-1500 (fits ER32 collet, with 1-1/2” shank diameter and 6.20” overall length).  The full line includes collet chucks that fit ER11, ER16, ER20, ER25, and ER32 collets and offers shank diameters of 1/2", 5/8”, 3/4", 1”, 1-1/4” and 1-1/2”.

Craftsman’s entire line of straight shank collet chucks are manufactured in the U.S.A. from high grade heat-treated alloy steel.  All tool holders are equipped with a lock nut and an inside backup screw.  The company’s entire product line can be viewed online at www.craftsmanindustries.com.

Craftsman Industries, Inc. has been manufacturing precision straight shank collet chucks for over 25 years.  Products include double angle and ER straight shank collet chucks in extension and “STUBBY” lengths.  All products are made in the U.S.A., come in a variety of sizes and are distributed throughout the U.S. and elsewhere via industrial distributors and machinery dealers.
